The companion for your journey:

helping you affirm and live into your vocation in moments of calm as in times of transition

I help practitioners, organizations, and communities of faith affirm and live into their vocation during times of change and transition - sacred, companionable work.

Whether you are feeling confident or unsettled, in crisis or in calm, I trust that you already carry a deep and glad goodness, and I trust that you also sense the profound need in the world that your goodness can help make whole.

In interim-time, I see the table set for us to explore, discover, and claim anew that deep gladness in response to the needs around you. I believe that "being" and "doing" this work depends on thoughtful, prayerful conversations in community, and that emotionally and spiritually mature leadership is part of how those conversations take root.

The heart of my work

I nurture three heart habits in the communities I serve:

Generous hospitality: lifting open hearts and minds toward what feels new, strange, "wrong," or different, so that people and ideas are welcomed rather than pushed away.

Respectful communality: abundant courage to join with all that feels least, lost, and lonely, whether that shows up in persons, relationships, institutions, or communities.

Glad collaboration: wholesome intimacy with the things that make up the past, the present, and the emerging future, so we can work with them honestly and hopefully.

These graces, practiced over time, help create creative, vibrant, passionate faith communities and organizations, and they support leaders and practitioners who want their inner life and outer work to match.

I serve as dean of faculty and help design education for the Interim Ministry Network, an interfaith learning community that supports those who guide faith communities through seasons of change. I am grateful for this work and for the shared wisdom it brings to my practice.

I have been living this way of being and doing since my ordination in 1985, and after all these years, I am convinced that we all benefit from companions for the journey.

Let’s discover how we might journey together
